Salmonella infection or rather well known as simply food poisoning is a common occurrence. This infection is in fact the most frequent cause of food poisoning. Every year, in US alone, there is an estimation of 1.3 million affected and 23.000 hospitalized. That’s a very great number of people. But, it’ll be more surprising for you to know that the one of which causing salmonella infection is an un-sanitized kitchen that most people only give a glance.

What?

Well, it will be wise for you to know that an un-cleaned cooking board can essentially become a place for thousands of bacteria and hundred times filthier than a toilet seat.

Who knows what kind of virus of bacteria residing on your hand? After all, there’s a lot of things you touch before you come to the kitchen, so remember to wash your hand. This simple habit can do you a wonder in the future!

Start Cooking with Clean Kitchen

If you’re going to cook something, make sure your kitchen is clean. What’s better to have than a sanitized kitchen? You don’t want bacteria from the dirty plates fly to your fresh cooked spaghetti, do you? By having a clean kitchen at the beginning of your cooking process, it will ensure the cleanness of your food later and a healthier setting for your body!

Waiting for the broth boiled or the cake baked? Take your time immediately to clean the dirty utensils. By growing this habit, it’ll give you the self-satisfaction and ease you later if you need the utensils for anything. Beside, why spend your time spacing out in the kitchen when you can clean something that’ll rescue you from days of diarrhea?

A Place for everything

Having the kitchen clean is something and there is another thing. Make a place for everything. That’s crucial in the kitchen life to have everything storage in its place. Nobody ever knows that the meat or salmon they bought from market is infected by bacteria until they get sick. So, a place of everything to avoid the illness jumps from the meat to your lovely fruit. Put everything in where it should be. Meat? Refrigerator. Fruit? On the clean basket. Snack? A jar. Those are few examples, so make sure you put it accordingly!

In case you’re so lazy to clean up or just too tired to wash the chopping board to cut the chicken breast, prepare a spare. With this trick, you don’t need to hassle when you’re already so done from work. But, always make sure that you keep one clean, this won’t be useful if you leave both dirty.

Is your kitchen making you sick? Certainly no! If you follow and make these habits a regular, you will be so far from kitchen problems. And surely, salmonella infection is at bay, you’re already freeing yourself from one of salmonella source. Remember that a cleaner kitchen is a better health. Grow the habits and keep it up!
