The first homemade Cuisinart ice cream maker recipe we would like to provide a tutorial for is this Banana Ice Cream that only takes up 45 minutes of your day to make. This already includes the approximately 15 minute prep time and the remaining 30 minutes of ice cream maker time. Note that this recipe is meant for one and a half quarts which translates to ten and a half cup servings.

What you need:

  • One tsp of vanilla extract
  • Two cups of heavy whipping cream
  • Three or four ripe medium bananas
  • 1/8 to ¼ tsp of nutmeg
  • ½ cup of sugar
  • ¾ cup of milk

Instructions:

  • First thing first, you need to milk sugar, milk and nutmeg until the sugar dissolves thoroughly. To do this, use either a hand mixer or a wire whisk for best result
  • purée or mash bananas until they are all pureed well and then stir the bananas into the milk mixture
  • chill milk/banana mixture for at least 60 minutes to achieve best freezing results
  • then, add vanilla and whipping cream before stirring them all well
  • at this stage, you can pour the mixture into the Cuisinart ice cream maker
  • refer to the manufacturer’s manual for best results or wait for about 30 minutes before your ice cream is ready!

Pistachio Ice Cream

Pistachio is one of the most popular flavours when it comes to ice cream. While it needs about 2 hour chill time, but the flavour you’ll get as the end results definitely make up for itself. Don’t worry though for you’ll only need 15 minute prep time and only 25 minutes for ice cream maker time. This recipe is also meant for 1 ½ quarts which is about ten and a half servings.

What you need:

  • ¾ of sugar
  • One cup of shelled pistachios (salted or unsalted)
  • One cup of milk
  • One tsp of vanilla
  • Two cups of heavy whipping cream
  • ¾ cup of chopped pistachios (can be toasted if desired)

Instructions:

  • Place the sugar and one cup of pistachios in the food processor which must be processed until they are all finely ground. Stir the mixture to ensure the nuts have been ground as well.
  • Place ground milk and pistachios in a medium saucepan and then heat over medium heat. Stir it often until the mixture starts to boil.
  • Then, take out from heat and cool it
  • Put it in the fridge and let it chill for two hours. Wait until the mixture is thoroughly cool before stirring in the vanilla and whipping cream
  • Pour the mixture into the ice cream maker and mix for 25 minutes or according to the manual
  • At this stage, you can add the chopped pistachios to the churning mixture and churn for 5 more minutes
